Faiz Mohammad Katib was born in 1862-63, in Zard Sang, Qarabagh district of Ghazni Province in Afghanistan. Katib is best known for his books, mainly Siraj-al Tavarikh1, on the history of Afghanistan. Katib died on March 3, 1931, in Kabul. He was secretary to Afghan amir Habibullah Khan who ruled Afghanistan from 1901 to 1909.
Early life
Katib spent the early days of his life and youth in Qarabagh. He learned Arabic and Quran by attending a local mosque in Qarabargh.
Personal life
Faiz Mohammad Katib was the son of Saeed Mohammad.
